Exports Overview
Bamboo Health gives you the ability to download your patient encounter data so you can create reports and gain insight into your patient’s utilization patterns, length of stay metrics, and more. You can download and view your data in Excel in two different ways via:
- Saved filters: When pulling an export from your saved filter, it will include only those patient events that match to your saved filter at the time you run the report.
- Export tab: this will allow you to pull a larger data set, based on the timeframe during which patient events occurred. You also can specify which specific data fields you’d like to include in the download.
Exporting Data from the Platform
Exporting data from the Exports tab allows you to download a list of patient encounters based on your selected timeframe, with options to customize the report to include specific fields relevant to your reporting needs. To export, follow the steps below:
- Click Export on the navigation bar
- Select the desired date range and fields you'd like to include under New Export
- Click the Export button and your file will appear under Recent Exports.
- Any file you export will stay in Recent Exports for 14 days. To re-pull a file with the same criteria, click the purple arrow next to your recent downloads.
- This feature also allows you to pull multiple files simultaneously! Run as many reports as you need and we will notify you in the platform once they're complete.
- Click Download
Exporting Data from Your Saved Filter
Exporting data from your saved filter allows you to download a more targeted list of patient encounters based on your responsibilities, priorities, and workflow so that you can act fast on your top-priority patient events. To export from your saved filter:
- Click the gear to the right of your saved filter
- Click Export Filter Results and your file will be downloaded to your computer
Note: When exporting from a saved filter, the downloaded file will include only those patient events that match to your saved filter criteria at the time you run the report. If the patient's more recent event no longer applies to the saved filter criteria, that patient event will not be included in the export.
Analyzing Data in Excel
The downloaded file includes information currently available in the Bamboo Health product, such as admissions, transfers, payor changes, and discharges for your patients. Exports are event-based and will reflect each individual event within the selected timeframe. For example, if you run a report for the past week and a patient was both admitted and discharged, both events will appear.

Exporting Care Team Information
Care team information for your patients is provided directly by Managing Organization's in our network responsible for your patients' care.
Please review below the criteria for how information is captured in these columns:

Program: This column will reflect the patient's program attribution at the time the encounter occurred.
- Practice: This column will reflect the patient's practice attribution at the time the encounter occurred.
- Provider: This column will reflect the patient's provider information that is reflected in Bamboo Health at the time you run the export.
- Care Coordinator: This column will reflect the patient's care coordinator information that is reflected in Bamboo Health at the time you run the export.
