What information is in a notification?
Included in email and/or text notifications you will see the following information regarding the care event:
- Name of the saved filter you are receiving a notification from
- Current status (e.g. admit, discharge)
- Facility type
- Patient setting
- Time of the event
- Any flags the patient applies to
- Program attribution
Each notification will also contain a link. If you receive a notification on one Ping, the link will take you to the patient’s profile. If you receive a notification on more than one patient, then the link will direct you to the Ping feed.
What if my patient has more than one Ping?
If a patient has more than one Ping between notifications, we will only notify you of the most recent event.
Will you notify me of Pings that have been resolved?
No. If you or a teammate resolves a Ping, we do not notify you of that event.
Will my notifications contain PHI (Protected Health Information)?
No. In order to protect patient data, we do not send PHI in email or text notifications.
You sent me a notification, but I do not see the Ping on my Ping feed.
Your Ping feed may differ from your notification if:
- The Ping was cancelled
- You received a more recent Ping for your patient
- The Ping was resolved by a team member
Why was I not notified about Pings on my Ping feed?
When it comes to creating your saved filters, less is more. The fewer criteria that you select, the more notifications you are likely to receive. For example, if you want to focus on patients who are in the ED you will just want to select presented under the current status filter facet and save and name your filter. This means that you will receive notifications on all patients who have ED encounters. If you only want to focus on patients under a specific care program then you will want to select the program under the program's filter facet and save and name your filter, in order to receive all notifications on patients who are attributed to that specific care program.
Additionally, if you are not receiving real-time alerts you will not receive a notification until your next selected timeframe. To change your notification settings, select the bell to the right of the saved filter and adjust accordingly. To align your notification with your work schedule you can update the days and times in which notifications are sent.
What time zone are my notifications in?
Just like in our application, a Ping's date and time will match the local time of the facility where the event occurred. This means if a patient is admitted to a hospital in Boston at 13:00, that is 1:00 pm ET. If the event occurred in Chicago, the timestamp would be 1:00 pm CT.
